You are an athlete at the gym, in bootcamp, taking martial arts, training for a marathon, or competing in the Olympics and you’re ready to see how nutrition can take your performance and body to a new level.
OUR SPECIALTY
Nutriworks, Inc. began in 2004 because there was a vast need for individuals to learn how to use nutrition for performance. Eve Pearson, owner, was a personal trainer and triathlete at the time. She realized many of her clients and fellow competitors would be so much more successful with their fitness and performance goals if they were educated on how to use nutrition. Concept: Eat to Train rather than Train to Eat. There is so much misinformation out there and Eve wanted to make sure everyone she came into contact with knew about evidence-based nutrition practice.
This is the main reason Nutriworks, Inc. began. After helping thousands of athletes and individuals reach their potential, Nutriworks, Inc. started adding Sports Dietitians to the team with hopes of expanding to a greater market including all sports. With three office locations in the DFW Metroplex, Nutriworks, Inc. can better meet local client demands and schedules. We work with athletes from all over the country via teleconference or the web. Remember, if you work out regularly, you're an athlete too! If you ever have suggestions or comments for us, we are all ears!

Sports Nutrition Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist and a Nutritionist?
A Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) is a nutrition professional who has at least completed an accredited 4-year educational program, 1200 hours of supervised practice, and passed a national board exam. RDN's only use scientifically based research methods for disease control and prevention, change of body composition and improvement of athletic performance. Depending on which state you are located in, the word Nutritionist could mean different things. For example, in Texas, anyone (including your next door neighbor who has a career in something completely different) could call themselves a nutritionist. This person likely does not have a degree in nutrition. Therefore, they are teaching from experience which only goes so far. Or, they could have a weekend certification they paid $400 for. Either way, don’t you want to get your information from a professional?
How will I benefit from working with a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN)?
An RDN will provide one-on-one nutrition counseling to develop an individual plan solely focused on enabling you to reach your performance or health goal(s). You can accomplish this by building on your current strengths and modifying any weaknesses in your current eating habits and food choices. A large percentage of whether or not you’ll reach your final goal depends on your nutritional intake. Some clients win in their sport after implementing nutrition and some clients lose 50 pounds. It completely depends on the goal you and your RDN have set.
What can I expect in my first appointment?
Every client must start with a 90-minutes initial consultation. You can expect the following from that session:
The dietitian will assess you, take measurements (including body fat percentage) and will help you come up with a healthy weight and body fat range. You will be given the appropriate calorie and macronutrient goal so you will know the amounts of protein, carbohydrates, and fats to eat for your agreed upon goal.
Utilizing the favorite foods list that you provide as part of your new client paperwork, you will leave with a 4-day menu plan of good options for all of you meals and snacks and timing of them.
You will learn what to eat at your favorite restaurants and receive information on any vitamins and supplements that you are taking or interested in.
If you are not participating in an exercise routine or training plan, one will be given to you that is best to meet your goal.
What does CSSD mean?
This credential stands for Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics. It was designed for RDNs who specialize in sports dietetics practice. The CSSD credential is the premier sports nutrition professional credential in the U.S.
How can proper nutrition benefit me?
Implementing proper nutrition can shave seconds off of sports such as swimming or hours off of sports such as long distance running or long course triathlon. Proper nutrition allows your body the nutrients it needs to perform and recover each training session. It also keeps you in the game by assisting in injury-free training or if there is an injury, quick recovery. Proper nutrition keeps active individuals fit and free from sickness. Are you sold?!
What sports do you service?
We have worked with the following sports:
Baseball, Basketball, Bodybuilding, Boxing, Cheer, Crossfit, Cycling, Dance, Equestrian, Field Hockey, Figure Skating, Football, Golf, Gymnastics, Ice Hockey, Lacrosse, Martial Arts, Motocross, Mountain Biking, Olympic Lifting, Pickleball, Racewalking, Rock Climbing, Rowing, Running, Rugby, Soccer, Softball, Swimming & Diving, Tennis, Track & Field, Triathlon, Volleyball, Water Polo, Wrestling
Our clients range from 13 years old to 78 years old. We work with youth, collegiate, recreational, Masters, elite, Olympic and professional athletes.
What can I expect from my nutrition plan?
First and foremost, this is a food plan, but not a diet! We will provide a lifestyle approach to help you change habits that have kept you from reaching your goals on your own. We recommend real food to our clients that focuses on balance and timing. We do not sell products nor supplements. We check in with you between your appointments to make recommendations and/or changes, if needed. Most clients come in once per month until they meet their goals.
How do I pick the best package for me?
At the end of the initial consultation, your dietitian will give you a recommendation on what discounted package (if necessary) best fits your goals. You can decide what will work best for you and your budget. Packages are designed to help you commit to your goals, provide a discount and are paid up front at your initial consultation. However, we also understand that you may only be able to start with the initial consultation at first and it is an option to pay as you go. All packages include the initial consultation and are good for 1 year from date of purchase. They also include a maintenance plan at the end, once you have met your goal.
Do you accept insurance?
No. However, we can supply you with any paperwork necessary for you to get reimbursed, if your insurance covers nutrition therapy. You will have to check with your insurance company and/or doctor to provide us with the necessary insurance coding.
Do you accept HSA and FSA cards?
Yes; however, usually a letter of medical necessity is required from your doctor. You are responsible to ensure any rules are met.
What times are appointments available?
We offer early, lunchtime and evening appointments Monday through Friday. Days and times differ, depending on the office.
Do you have a cancellation policy?
Yes, we require a 24-hour notice prior to the scheduled meeting time. Failure to do so will result in a forfeiture of that session, without a refund. If you have not prepaid for the session, you will need to remit payment when asked to do so.
Where are your offices located and what if I cannot travel to any of them?
We have physical office locations in Fort Worth (by Clearfork area), Dallas (by the Galleria Mall) and Keller (by Keller town Square). We also offer virtual appointments via conference call, Zoom, FaceTime or Skype for our distant clients, whom we see from all over the country.
When I become a client, who will I be working with at Nutriworks, Inc.?
Great news! You will have access to our full Nutriworks, Inc. team to better service our clients in a timely manner.
What type of clients do you see?
If you exercise, you are an athlete! The only requirement is that you are currently exercising/training or recovering from an injury or illness with the intention to do so.
Our clients range from 13 years old to 78 years old. We work with youth, collegiate, recreational, Masters, elite, Olympic and professional athletes.
We work with vegan, vegetarian, food sensitivities and different cultural diets as well.
We have clients that want to get leaner, faster, stronger, have medical issues that proper nutrition and exercise can help with or even have stomach issues during training that we can help eliminate.
How much weight can I expect to lose or gain?
The nutrition sessions are designed to help you reach your goal by adapting your dietary intake to your current needs in a safe environment. You cannot expect to lose more than 2-4 pounds per week resulting from the changes to your dietary intake. You should not expect to gain more than 1-2 pounds per week. This will ensure lasting results.
Do you see children?
Yes, we will see children if they are over the age of 13. If they are younger, we can have the appointment with the parents only.
What is included in menu planning?
You will fill out a questionnaire prior to starting so we can utilize the foods you like to eat, understand your lifestyle and your cooking preferences. Each week you will be sent a feedback form to assist us in preparing your weekly menu. The next day, you will receive your menu plan with all meals and snacks for a week AND a grocery shopping list, so you don’t have to think about any of it! The initial consultation is mandatory before starting this program.
What is included in your accountability program?
You will track what you are eating by either logging or journaling your food daily. Each week, we send you a feedback form. The following day, we email you back with our recommendations after analyzing your feedback and tracking. Our accountability program is done online via email, rather than in person. However, the initial consultation is mandatory before starting this program.
